Now CBI joint director Pankaj Srivastava served with summon notice by Kolkata Police

A day after Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team landed outside Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar’s residence to interrogate him in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam, a city police team reached the office of a senior CBI officer in Kolkata and served him summon notice.

Kolkata Police officials served a notice in the office of CBI joint director (Kolkata Zone) Pankaj Srivastava for questioning in a case under Bhawanipore police station.

A three-member team from the police station served the notice at his Nizam Palace office. Initially, they were stopped outside, but after showing their valid identity proof, they were allowed to go in. They served the notice in Srivastava’s office.

He has been asked to appear at the Bhawanipore police station as a “witness” for recording his statement in a case of cheating.
