West Bengal State Public Service Commission board conducts WBPSC exam for recruiting candidates under Group A, Group B, and Group C officer posts in West Bengal. This exam is held annually whose main focus is to select the best candidate to serve the nation. The exam is generally conducted in the month of February and its notification gets out in November. The WBPSC exam eligibility, exam pattern, and topics are important for students to know before they start preparing. Below are all the details for the students.
WBPSC Eligibility Requirements
- The candidate applying for the exam must be an Indian citizen.
- Candidates whose primary language is Nepali are not allowed.
- The candidate must know to write and talk in Bengali.
- Candidates belonging to Group A and C must lie in the age group of 21 years to 36 years.
- Candidates applying for Group B of WBPSC must be between 20 years to 36 years.
- For candidates applying to Group D, the age limit is 21 years to 39 years.
- In the case of (PWD) Persons with disabilities, the upper age limit is up to 45 years.
- Candidates of other states belonging to SC/ST/OBC will be treated as General category students.
- For candidates applying for Group B, the minimum height requirement for males is 1.65 meters and that for a female is 1.50 meters. There is relaxation for Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese Tribals, and so on.

WBPSC Prelims Exam Pattern
The WBPSC Prelims exam is MCQ-based, where students have to choose the correct answer out of a certain number of options. The marks scored in Prelims are not considered for evaluating the candidature for the Final Results. It is just a screening process to get shortlisted for Mains. It is a 2-hour paper.

WBPSC Mains Exam Pattern
The Mains exam is the most important and difficult section of the entire process. It comprises six compulsory MCQ-type question papers and two discretionary papers. Each paper is allotted 3 hours and comprises at least 200 questions.
