The Alipore Metrological office has predicted rainfall in the southern region of West Bengal on Wednesday and Thursday. East and West Midnapore, Jhargram, North and South 24 Parganas, Bankura and Purulia may get rainfall towards the evening on Wednesday. Rainfall may be accompanied by thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds at 30-40 kilometre per hour in some places. Howrah and Hooghly may also receive rainfall with thunderstorm on Wednesday.
Almost all the districts in south Bengal may get rainfall with thunderstorm on Thursday. The rainfall is being triggered by the collision of cold westerly winds and hot easterly winds over the Gangetic West Bengal, officials said. Parts of north Bengal may get rains on Friday. Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and some other places of north Bengal may experience rainfall with hailstorm on Friday.
The minimum temperature will stay between 26°C to 27°C from Wednesday to Friday while the maximum temperature will remain between 37°C to 38°C.
