Rose Valley owner Gautam Kundu writes to Court alleging CBI pressure on him to name politicians

In a handwritten petition submitted to the special CBI judge through Presidency Jail authorities, Rose Valley owner Gautam Kundu has alleged that the officials of central investigating agencies who interrogated him in jail between June 18 and 21 mentioned certain politicians and asked him to name them for having transactions with. The officers who had interrogated him are from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED).

In his six page petition filed with the Special CBI judge at the Bankshal Court in Kolkata, Kundu wrote that he did not succumb to the pressure of the investigating officers as what they wanted him to say was not true.

He wrote that the politicians mentioned by the investigating officers had no connection with his company, neither had they taken any favour from him. Mentioning a politician, Kundu wrote that he had met him at a party hosted by a travel agent, but never met him again.

The investigating officers will again interrogate Kundu, it is learnt.

In his petition, Kundu has also mentioned that his mother is ailing and requested that he is allowed to reach her things required for daily needs, else he would be forced to appeal for her euthanasia.

Trinamool Congress MPs Tapas Pal and Sudeep Bandopadhyay were earlier arrested in connection with the Rose Valley chit fund probe and were lodged in Bhubaneswar jail. Both are now out on bail. Film producer Srikant Mohota had also been arrested in this connection and is now in Bhubaneswar jail.
