Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift: Ventilated Seats, Turbo Engine Expected
Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce a refreshed Brezza with several premium upgrades.

By The Bengal Story Bureau: Maruti Suzuki is preparing a significant update for its popular compact SUV, the Brezza, with new features aimed at strengthening its position in the competitive Indian market. Industry reports indicate the upcoming facelift will introduce premium comfort additions and powertrain enhancements, including a turbo-petrol option and factory-fitted CNG compatibility.

Key feature additions

Sources familiar with the development suggest that Maruti Suzuki will equip the new Brezza with ventilated front seats, a feature that has become highly requested in the segment. The interior is also expected to receive a major infotainment upgrade, featuring a larger touchscreen unit with updated software and enhanced smartphone connectivity. These additions align with the company’s strategy to move its offerings further up-market.

Powertrain and performance

The most anticipated change in the upcoming model is the introduction of a turbo-petrol engine. While the current 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine will likely remain the core offering, the addition of a turbo unit is expected to provide better performance and torque for highway driving. Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki is reportedly refining its S-CNG technology to offer higher fuel efficiency in the CNG variants, addressing the growing demand for low-running-cost vehicles.

Market positioning and competition

The sub-four-metre SUV segment remains one of the most hotly contested categories in India, with rivals like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet frequently updating their feature lists. By adding premium creature comforts and a more potent engine option, Maruti Suzuki aims to retain the Brezza’s status as a top-selling model. The company has not yet provided an official launch date, but industry experts anticipate a rollout in the coming months.
