NEW DELHI: The Bengal Story Bureau: The Indian two-wheeler market is preparing for a major expansion over the next two years, with at least 10 upcoming adventure bikes expected to launch by 2027. Major manufacturers, including Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and international brands like BMW and KTM, are actively developing mid-capacity adventure tourers to capture the growing domestic demand.
Royal Enfield and Hero Expand Lineups
Royal Enfield is currently developing two distinct models to strengthen its adventure portfolio. Industry reports suggest the Chennai-based manufacturer will introduce the Himalayan 440, an accessible variant based on the Scram 440 platform, expected to launch in late 2026 with a price tag of around Rs 2.5 lakh. The company is also testing its flagship Himalayan 750, powered by a new parallel-twin engine producing roughly 55 bhp, which could arrive by the festive season.
Meanwhile, Hero MotoCorp is preparing its highly anticipated Xpulse 421. The new flagship off-road motorcycle has appeared in multiple test runs, featuring a new liquid-cooled engine capable of producing approximately 40 bhp. Automotive analysts expect the Xpulse 421 to debut in late 2026, carrying a price tag between Rs 2.7 lakh and Rs 2.9 lakh.

Industry watchers anticipate the upcoming Bajaj adventure motorcycle will utilize either a KTM-derived 250cc engine or a completely new 350cc liquid-cooled unit. The automaker will likely price the new model aggressively, with an estimated starting price of Rs 2 lakh.
Upcoming Adventure Bikes from European Brands
European manufacturers are expanding their mid-capacity offerings to compete in the sub-500cc segment. Aprilia plans to launch the Tuareg 457, based on its popular RS457 platform, by early 2027.
