Bengal minister Subrata Mukherjee unwell, admitted to SSKM Hospital

He went for a routine check-up when respiratory distress was detected.

Subrata Mukherjee, cabinet minister in the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal, has been admitted to the state-run SSKM Hospital. He is the state panchayat minister.

Mukherjee had visited the SSKM Hospital for a check-up on Sunday, and during the check-up, he was detected with respiratory distress, and doctors advised admission as they didn’t want to take risks. He was initially admitted to the Woodburn ward, the hospital’s VIP ward. Later, he was shifted to ICCU as his condition became more vulnerable. Currently, he is stable, and under observation of cardiology experts, officials said.
