Derek O’Brien, Trinamool Congress MP said on Sunday that the party will contest the coming Lok Sabha elections 2019 in 14 states, including West Bengal and Odisha. He was confident over the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) defeat in the elections.
“We are ready to fight the elections. Our party will contest the coming Lok Sabha polls in 14 states. January 19 was a historic day as all anti-BJP parties united on that day. In 2019, the BJP will be finished,” O’Brien was quoted saying.
BJP national president Amit Shah has said over the past few months that the BJP will win 23 seats out of 42 in West Bengal. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP won Asansol and Darjeeling, just two seats in the state.
