Trinamool in Tripura: many BJP, Cong, CPIM leaders, workers join Bengal’s ruling party

Several leaders and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and the CPI(M) today joined the Trinamool Congress in Tripura.

After winning the Assembly elections in Bengal for a straight third term, Trinamool is trying to gain ground in other states of the country. And it has been most active in Tripura so far.

Several leaders and workers from other parties joined Trinamool Congress today in presence of Ritabrata Banerjee, the Trinamool’s workers’ organisations leader. According to Banerjee, 60 families from Amarpur joined the party, apart from 76 each from the BJP and CPI(M), 32 from the Congress, apart from many others. Altogether, 235 persons joined Trinamool today in Tripura.
