Trinamool’s Anubrata Mondal & Saokat Mollah skip CBI questioning

Both have sought 15 days' time for separate reasons.

Trinamool Congress’ Birbhum district chief Anubrata Mondal skipped a questioning session with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers scheduled on Friday. He was to face the officers in Kolkata in the cattle smuggling case.

Meanwhile, Trinamool MLA Saokat Mollah was summoned by the CBI officers in connection with the coal smuggling case today, but the MLA too skipped it. Both were summoned to the CBI’s Nizam Palace office. Anubrata Mondal as well as Saokat Mollah asked for 15 days’ time from the CBI, though separately and for different reasons.

Mollah, the Canning East MLA of Trinamool Congress, has told the CBI authorities that he is busy in administrative matters and thus needs 15 days before appearing for the questioning. Anubrata Mondal on the other hand mentioned that he is not doing well and had been advised 15 days’ rest by doctors. He has asked CBI officers to visit him at his home if they wish to question him.
