Voters’ list in Bengal: verification, registration & list revision process on till Jan 15

The Election Commission of India has extended the date for verification of the electoral rolls in West Bengal till November 30.

So far, around 93 per cent voters’ information has been verified in the state. Also, the date for revision of voter list has been postponed to December 16 from the earlier November 25.

The revision of the electoral rolls will now take place from December 16 to January 15. Those who want to register their names, change addresses or change errors in spellings of names and/or addresses can do so within the given time frame.

Additionally, those who will turn 18 years by January 1, 2020, can also apply for registering their names in the electoral rolls. The final list will be published on February 7, 2020.

This is the second time the date for electoral roll revision has been extended in the state. Earlier the last date was fixed at October 15, and then it was extended till November 18.
