There’s a lot of speculation over which leaders are joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, apart from senior leader Subhendu Adhikary.
This includes Trinamool Congress MP Sunil Mondal, it includes another former Trinamool MP Dasharath Tirkey. The latter won from Trinamool Congress ticket in 2014, but lost from Alipurduar in 2019. He was earlier with the RSP.
Apart from this, Banasree Maity, Tapasi Mandal, Ashok Dinda, Sudip Mukhopadhyay, Biswajit Kundu, Saikat Panja, Shilbhadra Dutta, Dipali Biswas, Sukra Munda and Shyamaprasad Mukhopadhyay are the MLAs who will join the BJP from the same dais.
Banashree Maiti is Trinamool Congress MLA from Contai North, Tapasi Mondal is Haldia MLA from the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Ashok Dinda is Tamluk MLA from Communist Party of India, Sudip Mukhopadhyay is Congress MLA from Purulia, Biswajit Kundu is Trinamool MLA from Kalna, Saikat Panja is Trinamool MLA from Manteswar, Shilbhadra Dutta is Trinamool MLA from Barrackpore, Dipali Biswas is CPIM MLA from Gajole, Sukra Munda is Trinamool MLA from Nagrakata.
Others to join the BJP includes Col Diptangshu Chowdhury, Katrik Pal and several minority leaders including Kabirul Islam, Karam Hussain Khan, Prof. Wahidul Haque among others. Several other leaders from across the state are also joining the BJP.
