The Ladies Circle India and Round Table India organised “Knights in Khaki” in Kolkata on Wednesday to honour several women officers of Kolkata Police.
B V Chandrashekhar (Deputy Commissioner Detective Dept) said, “I feel honoured to be part of the department as these brave ladies. On behalf of Kolkata Police, I feel proud for these officers, they have made the force proud.”
Chairperson of Ladies Circle 46 Anshu Agarwal said, “We salute all the brave-hearts for their services to the society. These cops are examples of courage, sacrifice and patriotism who make us proud with their heroic acts to protect people and prevent crime.” The police officers honoured were from the ranks of constables to Inspector.
Inspector Rina Roy Chowdhury, who has been serving for 25 years, who was honoured at the programme said “This is a recognition of the work of the team I am part of.” Constable Srabanti Ghosh said, “It feels good when someone recognises your attempt to serve the society. I am serving the force for eight years and I cherish every moment.”
