Banerjee announced this at a meeting with an employees’ association at the state administrative headquarters, Nabanna. Officials said that while government employees have faced pay cuts in other states, Banerjee wants to highlight the fact that her government is paying an increased DA. Ahead of the Assembly elections in 2021, many feel that this will help woo state employees to the ruling Trinamool Congress.
