Bengal govt announces transfer of 15 IPS officers

The West Bengal home department on Wednesday announced the transfer of 15 IPS officers. This includes a change in the Director (security) of chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

Vivek Sahay, who was in charge of the CM’s security has been replaced by ADG & IGP (Correctional Services) Peeyush Pandey. Sahay will take over as DGP (Provisioning). Manoj Verma, who was the Police Commissioner of Barrackpore, will now be additional director (security). He will also take charge as IGP (law and order). Ajay Kumar Thakur, who was joint CP (Crime) of Barrackpore, will take over as CP Barrackpore.

Also, ADG & IG (CID) R Rajasekaran has been given additional charge of Anti-corruption branch and DIG (Malda Range) Alok Rajoria has been made DIG (Burdwan Range).
