The Bengal Story Bureau: The upcoming “Diamond Jubilee Celebration” episode of Indian Idol 16 will see a historic reunion as season one rivals Abhijeet Sawant and Amit Sana share the stage to perform together after nearly two decades. The episode will also feature actor-politician Ravi Kishan as a special guest, leading a high-energy dance performance with former contestants.
The newly released promo for the singing reality show has created a massive buzz online, marking the end of a long-standing rivalry between the two inaugural season finalists who launched their careers from this very platform.

The rivalry between the two singers was highly publicised over the years. Sana had previously alleged that the show’s makers were biased and claimed that Sawant’s victory in the first season was influenced by political factors. Sawant had consistently denied these allegations. The new promo indicates that the two have finally buried the hatchet.
Ravi Kishan and Badshah Join the Celebration
The nostalgic performance left the judges and the celebrity guest visibly moved. Rapper Badshah was so overwhelmed by the duo’s singing that he went on stage and playfully broke a speaker in a salute to their talent, while Vishal Dadlani expressed his delight. Ravi Kishan simply called the performance “adbhut” (wonderful).
The Diamond Jubilee special brought back top singers from various past seasons, including Meiyang Chang and Prajakta Shukre. The reunion culminated in a lively dance segment where Ravi Kishan, the judges and all the former contestants danced to the song Pilaudi Bina Chutney from Welcome 3.
Indian Idol 16 continues to draw strong viewership by introducing fresh themes and celebrity guests every weekend, keeping the format engaging for its audience.
