Bengal civic polls: Mamata Banerjee to discuss Trinamool councillors’ assessment report on March 2

West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee will hold a meeting at Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on March 2 to discuss the performances of existing councillors of her party from municipalities across the state.

Councillors of all the municipalities, chairpersons of municipal corporations and various office bearers of Trinamool Congress will be present at the meeting. Banerjee will discuss performance reports of councillors prepared by the specialist team of political strategist Prashant Kishor.
The meeting is significant in view of the coming civic polls, and councillors are yet to be issued party tickets for contesting. Banerjee is expected to finalise the list by Doljatra in the first week of March. The reports prepared will indicate the public image and performance of councillors based on their work in respective areas.
The reports will also focus on the effectiveness with which Trinamool’s flagship Didi Ke Bolo program – seeking to address public grievances has been carried out in each area. The top leaders of the party want to field candidates who are acceptable and approachable by people and have the required organisational capabilities.
Keeping the upcoming elections in mind, Banerjee has asked councillors to increase their public relations by going on door-to-door campaigns.
