Actor Soumitra Chatterjee (85), who tested positive for COVID-19 last week, is very critical and his health condition has deteriorated in the past 24 hours, hospital sources said.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner tested positive for COVID-19 on October 6 and was admitted to hospital immediately. He had mild fever for about three days the reason he got himself tested.
Due to several age-related ailments, his condition has been a matter of major concern, said physicians. Since admission to hospital, his condition has deteriorated. He has been disoriented and restless. A few units of plasma have been administered. A medical board was formed to keep a constant eye on his condition, as he has several age-related ailments.
He had fever again on Monday, and his condition has worsened since Friday after an initial stable phase.
