Adani Group commits to invest Rs 10,000 crore in Bengal over the next decade

The Adani Group has committed to invest Rs 10,000 crore in West Bengal over the next decade, group chief Gautam Adani announced on Wednesday at the inaugural session of Bengal Global Business Summit in Kolkata. Gautam Adani – the founder and chairman of the Adani Group – is in the BGBS for the first time.

Adani said that the group will invest in port and infrastructure such as undersea cable, centre of excellence, data centre, warehousing and logistic parks. “I am committing my promise to live up to the expectations of the people of Bengal,” Adani said at the inaugural session. The investment will help generate direct and indirect employment of 25,000 people, it was said.

The Adani Group company, Adani Wilmar currently has an edible oil plant in Haldia. Adani is bidding for the Tajpur deep sea port.
