After Mukul Roy, who else from BJP will “re-join” Trinamool Congress?

Mukul Roy, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice president and his son Subhranghu are all set to rejoin the Trinamool Congress.

From the time the news has been confirmed, there are speculations as to who else will “return” to the Trinamool Congress now. Since the party’s landslide victory in May 2021, there have been statements made by the leaders who left Trinamool for the BJP that they would like to return to their former party. However, so far, no decision was taken by the party chief Mamata Banerjee. It was clear that she alone would take the decision.

However, now that the BJP bigwig — who was earlier national general secretary of the Trinamool Congress — is getting back to Trinamool, sources say that many more are likely to follow suit. There are talks that the Trinamool Congress leadership is sympathetic towards Rajib Banerjee and Sonali Guha, and since both have made their position on this rather clear, it is possible that they both may be with Trinamool soon. Another BJP leader, Prabir Ghoshal may also join back.

Also, since Sabyasachi Dutta is rather close to Mukul Roy, there are talks that Dutta too may “return” to Trinamool. How many more BJP leaders will be with the Trinamool, will be clear very soon.
