West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee took to Twitter to congratulate all the winners. With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) showing remarkable results both nationally and in Bengal, the Bengal CM added: “But all losers are not losers.”
The BJP is not only getting a landslide victory nationally, but has also performed extremely well in Bengal. Under this backdrop, Banerjee also wrote that her party will now have to review the results and share the view with the people. She said that this would be done once the counting process is over and the VVPATs (Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail) slips have been matched as well.
A number of star candidates of the Trinamool Congress are still trailing such as Dinesh Trivedi from Barrackpore, Mausam Benazir Noor from Malda South, Subrata Mukherjee from Bankura, Manas Bhuniya from Midnapore, Moon Moon Sen from Asansol, among others.
