Barcoded invitation card for Mamata Banerjee party meeting on March 2

A barcoded invitation card has been designed for Mamata Banerjee’s meeting at Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on March 2. Banerjee will hold a review meeting for the party councillors to review their performances and is likely to explain the process of issuing party tickets to them for the upcoming civic polls in West Bengal. Entry into the meeting is by invitation only.
trinamool Congress sources say that the card has been designed by the specialist team of political strategist Prashant Kishor. The card, they say, was designed to ensure the attendance of the party leaders in the meeting and to ensure that they cannot pass on the card to others for attending the meeting. The card would thus prevent outsiders from attending the meeting and reduce the chances of security threat.
The cardholder could also be spotted instantly by the barcode among a gallery full of people in case of any urgency.
The card bears the card holder’s name and his organisational post in the party. It also mentions the gate through which he would enter the venue and the gallery where s/he should be seated.
Another instruction printed on the reverse side of the card asks the invitee to be present at the venue at least 15 minutes before the program starts at 10 am.
The card is being distributed to the block party presidents, MLAs and MPs since Tuesday and will reach all the invitees within a few days.
