Bhatpara, Halishahar and Naihati in Barrackpore of North 24 Paragans district areas were tense yet again on Friday, as Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers blamed each other for unleashing terror in the areas.

In Bhatpara, a BJP office was attacked with bombs hurled and alleged firing taking place. In Naihati, a Trinamool party office was attacked with bombs just outside the main entrance. There was trouble in Halishahar too, as reports of clashes and bombs being hurled were reported from the area.
