Bihar minister sparks controversy, says votes cannot be earned on the basis of a beautiful face referring to Priyanka Gandhi

Sparking controversy, Bihar minister Vinod Narayan Jha has dismissed Priyanka Gandhi as a ‘very beautiful face’ without any ‘political achievement’.

Attacking the Congress General Secretary, the minister went on to state that ‘votes can’t be won on the basis of beautiful faces’. The minister also added that she is the wife of Robert Vadra – a businessman accused of corruption and involved in land scams.

The minister’s attack comes in the backdrop of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s recent debut in active politics. She has been appointed as the General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh (East) by the Congress party last Wednesday. Ending years of speculation on her role in politics, the charismatic 47-years old Congress leader will join office from February 1 – just months ahead of the Lok Sabha polls scheduled in May.
