BJP’s Locket Chatterjee to join Trinamool? Amid speculations, she asks Kunal Ghosh to “focus” on Bhawanipore

Amid rising speculations on the possibility of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Hooghly, Locket Chatterjee, joining the Trinamool Congress, there was an unusual exchange of words between the BJP MP and Trinamool’s Kunal Ghosh on Twitter today.

Ghosh “thanked” BJP’s “star campaigner” Locket Chatterjee for “not campaigning at Bhabanipur”. “In spite of many requests from BJP, you haven’t come,” he wrote on Twitter. He added that he hoped “those days will return again when you started your political innings.” Locket Chatterjee had started her political career with the Trinamool Congress before joining the BJP.

While Chatterjee did not respond initially, later, she wrote on Twitter that Ghosh should concentrate on “ensuring that Mamata Banerjee doesn’t lose from Bhabanipur”. To this Ghosh again thanked her for not mentioning the name of the BJP candidate from Bhawanipore where chief minister Mamata Banerjee is contesting the bypolls. The BJP has fielded Priyanka Tibrewal against her.
