Chief secretary Rajiva Sinha retires, appointed as chairman, WBIDC

West Bengal chief secretary Rajiva Sinha, to retire on September 30, is being appointed as chairperson of the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC). Chief minister Mamata Banerjee announced this on Twitter. Earlier, she also mentioned that Alapan Bandopadhyay is being appointed as the next Chief Secretary of West Bengal.

Banerjee tweeted: “…outgoing Chief Secretary of West Bengal Shri Rajiva Sinha, has now been appointed the Chairman of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation for a period of 3 years w.e.f 1st October. I thank him for his tireless service to GoWB.”

HK Dwivedi, the state finance secretary, will be the new home secretary and Manoj Pant will be in charge of the state finance department from October 1.

Banerjee tweeted: “I’m pleased to announce that Alapan Bandyopadhyay, now Addnl Chief Secy (Home & Information) is appointed as the new Chief Secretary of WB. H K Dwivedi, hitherto Finance Secy, will be new Home Secy & Manoj Pant takes charge of Finance w.e.f. 1st Oct. Best wishes to entire team.”
