Cloudy sky, weekend rain predicted in Kolkata & adjoining districts
Temperature increases with cloudy sky.
The sky has been overcast in Kolkata for the past two days and rain is predicted on Saturday and Sunday according to the Met office. A light, low-pressure trough has formed between Odisha and Bangladesh across south Bengal that has led to formation of clouds and can cause rainfall in the city. Light to moderate rain is therefore likely on Saturday and Sunday.
Due to the overcast sky, there has been a slight increase in the temperature. The slight nip in the air is no longer there, with the minimum temperature on Saturday being 23.3 degree Celsius – three degrees above normal.
Temperature has also increased in other parts of south Bengal apart from Kolkata – such as Asansol, Diamond Harbour, Midnapore, Digha, Jhargram, North and South 24 Parganas, Howrah and Hooghly and so on. Similar rainfall is possible in these areas too.
