COVID-19: Bengal chief secretary asks police to ensure strict surveillance
Night curfews, other protocols must be maintained strictly.
West Bengal chief secretary HK Dwivedi has asked police superintendents and police commissioners across the state to ensure stricter surveillance to ensure people adhere to protocols on COVID-19.
The night curfew from 9 PM to 5 AM is not being followed strictly in some areas, according to certain inputs. The chief secretary asked the top officers on Tuesday to ensure stricter surveillance so that no lapses are found anywhere. There are also inputs that rules are being flouted by hotels, restaurants, clubs and other business establishments.
More checks, raids and surprise visits have to be taken up in addition with constant surveillance, it was advised. Firm action must be taken where rules are being flouted. Inter-state movements and surveillances are also to be made stricter.
