The West Bengal government on Monday released a list of containment zones in the state. These are in four districts – Kolkata, Howrah, North 24 Parganas and East Midnapore. The list of containment centres are irrespective of whether the districts are in red or orange zones.
Restrictions and relaxations will depend on how an area is progressing from one zone to the green zone. However, stricter measures are applicable in containment zones.
Containment zones are areas marked as such areas depending on detection of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases. Movement is restricted in such areas in order to prevent its further spread. A radius of approximately three kilometre from the detection of a positive case is usually considered to be a containment zone.
