COVID-19 in Bengal: Discharge rate of patients increase rapidly increase in the last 5 days, now 55.79%
The discharge rate of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients in West Bengal is rapidly increasing. In the last five days – from June 15 to 19, it has gone up from 47.79 per cent to 55.79 per cent.
On June 15, 434 patients got discharged, and there were 5,515 active cases in the state. On June 19, 302 patients got discharged and the number of active cases in Bengal was 5,258. Though the number of discharged patients is varying and is often increasing or deceasing compared with the day before, the number of active cases is decreasing. The number of deaths per day has not changed much either. As a result of these various factors taken together, the discharge rate has rapidly increased, more so in the past five days, when it increased from below 50 per cent to well above 50 per cent, said an official.
Samples tested on June 19 is 10,321 and the total number of samples tested in Bengal so far is 3,80,612 (till June 19). The total number of those who tested positive in Bengal is 13,090 (till June 19).
