COVID-19 in Bengal: one more dead, total 26 positive cases

One more death from Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been reported from West Bengal on Monday afternoon. The total number of deaths in Bengal is three. The number of persons who tested positive for COVID-19 in the state has increased to 26.

The deceased – a woman from Howrah district – had been admitted to hospital with fever and respiratory distress. Her swab sample was sent to SSKM Medical College & Hospital on Monday afternoon. The report which arrived at night was found to be positive for COVID-19. The doctors and nurses who attended the woman have been put under quarantine.

The woman had recently travelled outside Kolkata and is thought to have contacted COVID-19 virus from there.
Among the three persons who have been found to have tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday is a 32-year-old man from Midnapore who is currently admitted at Midnapore Medical College & Hospital. He had recently travelled to Mumbai.

Another one is an elderly man from Kolkata. He is undergoing treatment at AMRI Hospital at Salt Lake. The third one is a 52-year old person from Kolkata who is currently admitted at AMRI Hospital at Dhakuria.
Conditions of all three are stable, doctors have said.
