Cured of COVID, 20,680 get discharged in Bengal so far; 749 discharged in the last 24 hours

Altogether 20,680 persons who had contracted Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in West Bengal, have been discharged so far, including 749 discharged from various hospitals across the state in the past 24 hours.

There have been 1,000 deaths from COVID-19 in Bengal – which includes 20 deaths in the past one day. The number of Active COVID-19 cases in Bengal is now 12,747 – who are admitted in various hospitals across the state.

The total number of cases in West Bengal has reached 34,427 so far, with 1,589 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. The discharge rate is 60.06 per cent, a drop of six per cent within less than 10 days, as the total number of reported cases have rapidly increased in the last one week.

However, health department authorities are hopeful that the discharge rate will improve soon, as they feel the increased number of reported cases is the result of more tests being conducted these days. So far, 6,49,928 tests have been conducted in West Bengal, including 11,388 samples tested in the past 24 hours.
