West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said on Tuesday in Kolkata that she was very happy over the fact that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was sweeping the polls in the Delhi elections.
“I am very happy that the AAP has won and BJP has lost,” she said. Banerjee said that she hopes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will take lessons after their impending defeat in the election and will shift attention towards restoring the economy of the country rather than playing on communal grounds.
She said that she expects the BJP to withdraw the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR), which have been criticised for being discriminatory towards the Muslims.
