Early trend in Bengal: Trinamool leading in 184, BJP in 84
The majority mark in Bengal is 148 seats.
The early trends of the Assembly election results in West Bengal indicate a sweep in favour of the ruling Trinamool Congress.
So far, Bengal’s ruling party is leading in 184 seats and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 84 seats. Star candidates such as Trinamool’s Subrata Mukherjee, Firhad Hakim, Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, Javed Khan, Jyotipriyo Mullick, June Maliah, Aroop Biswas, Bratya Basu, Partha Chatterjee are leading.
BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari, who is contesting against Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee from Nandigram constituency, is leading.
Bengal has 294 seats in which polling was done in 292 seats (two less as two candidates passed away before polling in their constituencies). The majority mark in the state for forming the government is 148.
