ED notice to Bengal’s security advisor Surajit Kar Purakayastha, called for Saradha probe
Another retired IPS officer Rajat Majumdar summoned by ED too.
West Bengal’s security advisor Surajit Kar Purakayastha has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Saradha chit fund probe. The IPS officer retired and has been posted as the state’s security advisor since June 2018.
Another retired IPS officer from Bengal, Rajat Majumdar, has also been called by the ED in connection with the Saradha probe. They have been called to the ED’s Kolkata office on March 24 and 25.
The Enforcement Directorate is a Central government law enforcement and economic intelligence agency that is responsible for enforcing economic laws and for fighting economic crime in the country. The ED, apart from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing the Saradha chit fund scam.
