The Bengal Story Bureau: Kangana Ranaut’s latest theatrical release, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, saw a sharp decline in its box office collections on its first Monday. The drama, based on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, earned approximately Rs 65 lakh on day four, a 64 per cent drop from its Sunday collections of Rs 1.80 crore.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s total domestic net collection now stands at Rs 4.90 crore after four days in theatres. The total gross collection in India is estimated at Rs 5.86 crore.
The movie had a subdued opening weekend, earning Rs 1 crore on Friday. It recorded minor growth over the weekend, bringing in Rs 1.45 crore on Saturday before peaking on Sunday. The Monday figures indicate the film is struggling to draw audiences during the working week.

Clash With Competing Releases
Directed by Manoj Tapadia, the film faces tough competition at the domestic box office. It released alongside Imtiaz Ali’s partition drama Main Vaapas Aaunga and the horror thriller Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past.
Main Vaapas Aaunga passed the weekday test by earning Rs 1.25 crore on Monday, pushing its total net collections to Rs 6.75 crore. Haunted 3D emerged as the weekend leader and maintained a strong hold on Monday with Rs 2.20 crore, significantly outperforming the Kangana Ranaut film.
Industry analysts said the coming days will determine the lifetime theatrical run for Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata. If ticket sales fail to improve, the movie may struggle to cross the Rs 10 crore mark domestically.

Focus on Real Heroes
Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata focuses on the real-life bravery of medical staff at Cama Hospital during the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The narrative highlights the courage of nurses who protected pregnant women and patients from terrorists. The cast includes Girija Oak, Smita Tambe and Esha Dey in key roles alongside Ranaut.
Despite receiving tax-free status from the Haryana government, the film’s positive theme has not translated into major commercial success. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had recently announced the exemption, stating that the film inspires citizens to remember their duties.
