A sudden increase in the number of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases has led the West Bengal government impose fresh lockdown in the containment and buffer zones of the state. The state government has identified these as “affected areas” that will come under lockdown rules.
The stricture has been imposed from July 9 at 5pm. The lists have been updated again, with more affected areas included in some districts including Kolkata. Earlier, Paschim Burdwan, Jhargram and Cooch Behar did not have containment zones (affected areas). In the current, updated list, there are three affected areas for Cooch Behar and Paschim Burdwan and Jhargram are the only two districts that have no affected areas.

Affected areas in Paschim Midnapore
Affected areas in Purba Burdwan
Affected areas in Paschim Burdwan NIL
Affected areas in Uttar Dinajpur
Affected areas in Dakshin Dinajpur
Affected areas in Jhargram NIL
These are the activities to be closed in the affected areas:
*All offices – government and private
*All non-essential activities
*All congregations
*All transportation
*All marketing/industrial/trading activities
