IPS officer Humayun Kabir resigns, to contest polls as Trinamool candidate?

There are talks that he might be a Trinamool candidate this Assembly election

IPS officer Humayun Kabir, police commissioner of Chandannagar, resigned on Friday. There are talks that he might join politics, and may contest elections this Assembly polls on a Trinamool Congress ticket. Assembly elections are scheduled in Bengal in April-May 2021.

Kabir did not want to comment on why he is resigning.

IPS officer Gaurav Sharma was appointed the Chandannagar CP. after Humayun Kabir’s resignation.
