Night temperatures in Bengal may come down from December 3 or 4, according to officials of the Indian Meteorological Department.
The entry of cold air from the north is being delayed in West Bengal due to repeated formation of north-western and northern disturbances. Although the morning temperatures have already started coming down, winter has not set in officially yet.
The minimum and maximum temperatures for the past few days have been around 19°C and 31°C respectively. Moisture content in the air is also high during the noon.
Conditions are predicted to remain more or less the same for the next three-four days. Shallow to moderate fog may form during mornings over parts of eastern India during this time and temperature may rise by two to three degrees.
Weather experts say that once the formation of disturbances slows down in north-western and northern parts of the country, the cold air from north will be able to enter parts of eastern India including West Bengal.
