West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee donated Rs.5 lakh each to Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund and the West Bengal State Emergency Relief Fund for fighting Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Tuesday.
Banerjee announced this on her official Facebook page on Tuesday evening.
She mentioned in her post that she does not take salary as an MLA or a CM and doesn’t take pension as a former MP. Banerjee said that her source of income are her creative works and royalties from her books and music.
She donated the amount to support the country’s fight against COVID-19, Banerjee said.
