On a day several MLAs, a former MP, a current MP and many other Trinamool Congress leaders quit her party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mamata Banerjee’s tweet highlighted her focus: development.
She took to Twitter to write that in just two weeks, over one crore people across the state had visited 10,000 “Duare Sarkar” camps to avail the benefits of the state government schemes. Banerjee wrote: “I am immensely pleased to announce that in just 2 weeks, over 1 crore people across Bengal have enthusiastically visited more than 10,000 #DuareSarkar camps envisioned to ensure doorstep delivery of Govt services and benefit.”
She wrote that she was congratulating all state government officials and volunteers who worked round the clock to organise the camps every day at such a massive scale. “I assure all that we will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the people of Bengal are able to get the benefits of Govt services that they are eligible for, right at their doorstep!”
At a meeting with Trinamool Congress senior leaders on Friday evening, Banerjee had said that it should not matter who is leaving the party and the target would be to come back to power again in 2021. Her tweet on a day several MLAs, a current MP, a former MP and several senior leaders of the party quit Trinamool Congress and joined the BJP in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in West Midnapore, Banerjee’s tweet is being seen as a significant message that she wants to focus that her USP has been development and will continue to be so.
