With south-western monsoon losing its strength, Kolkata and surroundings districts won’t receive significant rainfall except one or two spells of rain or thundershowers over the next seven days.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast, the sky will generally remain cloudy or partly cloudy with the temperature hovering between 26 degree Celsius and 34 degree celsius till next Thursday.
There was heavy downpour in Kolkata on Monday and Tuesday due to a depression forming over Bihar and Jharkhand, that had boosted the monsoon. But south Bengal witnessed only sporadic showers — in parts of the Kolkata and its surrounding districts.
