Mukul Roy’s wife Krishna Roy passes away, Mamata Banerjee visits Roys’ home
She had post-COVID-19 complications.
Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy’s wife Krishna Roy passed away early on Tuesday morning following a cardiac arrest in Chennai. She passed away at 4.35 am on Tuesday at the private hospital. Krishna Roy was admitted to the hospital with post-COVID-19 complications. In fact, she had been taken to Chennai from Kolkata for lungs transplant surgery as her condition became critical after she contracted COVID-19. Her son, Subhrangshu, who had returned to Trinamool Congress last month along with Mukul Roy, is in Chennai now.
Mukul Roy had won the Krishnagar Uttar Assembly seat on a BJP ticket in 2021 elections.
Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and her nephew, Trinamool’s national general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, visited the Roys’ home this afternoon.
