No ‘hate’ for Prime Minister Modi, only ‘differences in view’ says Rahul Gandhi

Addressing the event ‘The Odisha Dialogue’ on Friday, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has stated that he harbours no hate for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is only about ‘differences in views’.

Admitting that there are disagreements, the Congress president said that PM Modi enjoyed the ‘right’ to ‘his opinion’. He further added that the ‘abuses’ heaped on him by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were the ‘best thing’ that happened to him – both personally and as a public figure.

While he would ‘try and make sure’ that the BJP does not return to power, he feels inclined to ‘give Modi a hug’ whenever the Prime Minister abuses him, stated the Congress president.

Pointing out the ‘basic difference’ between the Congress party and the BJP, Rahul Gandhi stated that Narendra Modi believes that he ‘knows everything’ and there is ‘no scope for feedback’ while the Congress follows a ‘dynamic process’ and listens to people. Calling the RSS the ‘mothership’ of the BJP, the Congress leader noted that RSS seeks to become the ‘only institution’ in the country. It is intent on penetrating all Indian institutions, he said. A centralised approach to power is destroying such institutions, he continued.

Even Supreme Court judges have come out and stated that they are not being allowed to work, said the Congress president. A lot of ‘repair work’ would be required after the last five years of BJP rule, stated the Congress party leader.
