No political party for now, says Prashant Kishor; announces 3,000 km padayatra

Does not rule out such possibility in future.

Political strategist Prashant Kishor today said that he is not floating a new political party for now, but would work towards building a new Bihar with new thoughts and efforts. Bihar is his home state. He also announced a 3,000-km padayatra or march from October 2 to “meet as many people as possible” which he said was part of his mission to bring “nayi soch, naya prayas” (new thoughts, new effort) in Bihar.

Kishor said that there are no elections scheduled in Bihar soon and thus a political party is not part of his plan. However, he did not rule out such a possibility in future. But he ruled out the possibility of allying with any political party in Bihar, and criticised both Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar. “I want to start from zero – I will spend the next three-four years reaching out to people with the idea of good governance,” he said. He said that in future if he wants to launch a political party, it will not be his party, but a party of the people.

Kishor added that he wants to bring together all those who want to change Bihar, adding that the last decade and a half have not been good for the state.
