Partha Chatterjee summoned by ED
He was earlier called by the CBI in connection with the I-Core probe
The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Trinamool Congress leader Partha Chatterjee in connection with a chit fund probe.
Chatterjee is a Trinamool Congress candidate from Behala, where polls have been concluded already in the fourth phase on April 10. The questioning will be in connection with the I-Core probe. One of the company’s programmes allegedly had Partha Chatterjee on the dais and he had apparently spoken in the company’s favour. He is being questioned regarding his connection and involvement with this private company.
The ED has also summoned outgoing Trinamool councillor Bappaditya Dasgupta in this connection. Chatterjee and Dasgupta have both been called to the ED office in Salt Lake CGO complex in the coming week. Recently, on March 15, Chatterjee was called by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the I-Core probe. However, due to the election, he was busy and could not be present, Chatterjee had reportedly said, though the CBI has not confirmed getting this intimation from the Trinamool leader.
