PM Modi in West Bengal today, political meeting & inauguration of government projects lined up

Ahead of the announcement of Assembly election dates in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state on Monday to lay foundation stones of several projects. He will also address a rally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He will first address a public meeting in Chinsurah, in Hooghly district at 3:45 PM, following which he will inaugurate several railway projects around 4:30 PM.

Modi will inaugurate the extension of Metro Railway from Noapara to Dakshineswar, and flag off the first service on this stretch, a 4.1 km extension. This will link two Kali temples at Kalighat and Dakshineswar. PM Modi may take a ride in the Metro after the inauguration. The two newly built stations – at Baranagar and Dakshineswar – have modern passenger facilities.

He will also inaugurate the line between Kalaikunda and Jhargram over 30 km of the 132 km Kharagpur-Adityapur Third Line Project of South Eastern Railway. There is also the widening of Azimganj to Khargraghat Road section, that is part of the Howrah-Bandel-Azimganj section of Eastern Railway.
