An election campaign stage in Jhargram collapsed as people rushed to take selfies with Trinamool Congress’ Basirhat candidate, actor Nusrat Jahan. No one was injured though.
While the constituency from where she is fighting is in Basirhat, North 24 Parganas, the popular Bengali film star was in Jhargram today to campaign for Trinamool candidate from the area, Birbaha Soren.
People rushed to the stage to take selfies with Nusrat Jahan. In a video, she is seen on stage and people encircling her and trying to take selfies. Soon, the stage collapsed and everyone is a bit startled, including the actor. However, as the stage was not too high, no one was injured and Nusrat Jahan is seen taking the mic and assuring people that “no one has been hurt”.
She has been a huge crowdpuller in this election and has campaigned for her party in various constituencies, even accompanying the party chief Mamata Banerjee in her meetings on some occasions.
