Stones thrown at Suvendu Adhikari’s convoy in Nandigram

Stones were thrown at the convoy of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Suvendu Adhikari in Nandigram’s Satengabari area of East Midnapore on Thursday afternoon. Polling is on in Nandigram along with 29 other constituencies in the second phase of Bengal elections. Suvendu Adhikari remained unhurt in the incident. A media vehicle however, faced the brunt of the attack, it was reported.

Speaking on the incident, Adhikari said, “Jangal-raj exists in Bengal under Mamata Banerjee’s rule.” He said that people “from a particular community hurled stones from paddy fields.” Earlier, he was shown black flags outside a booth.

In Keshpur of West Midnapore, where election is on too, there was an attack on the convoy of BJP candidate of the constituency, Pritish Ranjan Konar.
