Two days after Governor’s rule was invoked in Jammu and Kashmir, Governor Narinder Nath Vohra has invited all party heads of the state on Friday evening in Srinagar to discuss the current situation in the state.
According to a gazette notification, the proceedings of the state legislative assembly will be suspended until “the proclamation of Governor’s rule is revoked or varied by a subsequent proclamation”.
On June 19, state chief minister Mehbooba Mufti sent her resignation to the Governor after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) pulled out of the alliance with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir for what the BJP claimed was for “larger national interest”.
